The Briarwood Civic Association Board of Directors would like to extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Chris Thomas for accepting the nomination and being elected by the
members present at our September 15, 2026, Membership Meeting to serve as
President of the Briarwood Civic Association for the remainder of the 2026 term.

Are you interested in getting involved with the Briarwood Civic Association? We encourage you to nominate yourself or a neighbor for one of our volunteer Board of Directors or committee member positions for 2027.
Please submit nominations by November 15, 2026, to be included on the absentee ballot that will be mailed to Association members with the 2027 dues invoices.
All members of the 2026 Board of Directors intend to run again for their respective positions in 2027:

Nominate yourself or a neighbor from now through Oct. 25; voting will take place Oct 27-29 in the BCA Members & Residents Facebook Group.
Winners will be acknowledged with the yard sign and on the entry sign.

We hope this new date and time allows more members to join in some community fun.
Prizes will consist of homemade baked goods and donated items generously provided by community members rather than gift cards. To donate a prize, contact Angela Woodruff.
Note: If you attend the event, this is a great time to drop off Thanksgiving Basket donations.
Halloween in Briarwood

Please use extra caution while driving throughout the community as neighbors enjoy the festivities. Slow down, stay alert, and watch carefully for ghosts, superheroes, princesses, and other costumed neighbors walking along our streets and sidewalks.
Helpful Hints for Residents:
Leave your porch light ON to let families know you are welcoming trick-or-treaters, and keep it OFF to let them know to pass by your home if you're not participating.
Our younger neighborhood children often start their Halloween fun a little earlier, sometimes around 5:30 PM, so please be mindful of increased foot traffic in the early evening.
We hope everyone has a fun, festive, and safe Halloween evening!
Summerville Church of Christ Thanksgiving Basket Drive
The church is collecting items for its annual Thanksgiving Baskets. Please consider donating from the list below to support families in need. Donations should be delivered by November 18, 2026.

Cornbread mix (13oz. or larger)

Mashed Potato Mix (13 oz. or larger)
Canned carrots

Canned green beans (15-28 oz)

Daylight Savings Reminder
As a friendly reminder, Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 1, 2026. At 2:00 AM, clocks go back one hour to 1:00 AM.
So before you go to bed on Saturday, October 31, you can set any manual clocks back one hour. Phones, computers, and most smart devices should change automatically. “Fall back” = gain an extra hour!
Please Drive Safely 🚸
Please stay alert and drive carefully for the safety of our children at bus stops, as well as neighbors who may be walking, running, enjoying time with their children, or walking their four-legged family members. 🐾
We ask all community members to please allow yourself a few extra minutes, slow down, and come to a COMPLETE STOP at ALL designated stop signs throughout our neighborhood.
A few extra minutes and a little extra caution can make a big difference in keeping everyone in our community safe. ❤️
