They’ve done it again! Our neighbors at 118 Dunmow are the proud winners of our annual Halloween Decorating Contest for the 2nd year in a row.

Santa Claus is Coming to Briarwood 🎄
We’re excited to announce that Santa and his special elves will be visiting Briarwood on Sunday, December 14, 2025, beginning at 3:00 p.m., traveling through our neighborhood until all participating families have been visited. Children will have the opportunity for photos with Santa on his sleigh and will receive a small gift!
To participate, please submit your interest by December 7, 2025, so the elves can prepare gift bags and routes.
If you’d like to help decorate Santa’s sleigh or donate items for the children’s gift bags, please contact your Board of Directors at contact@briarwoodsc.org.
Reporting Maintenance Requests
To better serve our community, we ask that all maintenance requests be submitted to contact@briarwoodsc.org.
This will help us track issues more effectively, ensure timely follow-up, and keep a formal log for reference.

Neighbor Spotlights
Meet Mr & Mrs. Groover
When you enter Briarwood, John and Erika Groover are among the very first friendly faces you’ll see. Their home, one of Briarwood’s original model homes, sets a welcoming tone for our community with its beautiful, well-kept yard.
John takes great pride in his lawn and enjoys biking through the neighborhood once his yardwork is done. The Groovers are a proud military family who traveled widely during John’s service in the U.S. Navy before settling here in Briarwood on February 28, 1980.
They are a wonderful example of dedication, resilience, and community spirit, and we are lucky to have them as neighbors. Please join us in wishing John a very happy 89th birthday on December 5, and in celebrating their 66th wedding anniversary on December 21! 💙
Meet Mrs. Annette Bertolani
Please join us in wishing Mrs. Annette Bertolani a very happy 89th Birthday!
On December 2, Mrs. Annette celebrates this wonderful milestone. And we hope it's filled with joy, love, and all the warmth she brings to Briarwood!
She has proudly called Briarwood home for 48 years, and her love for our community shines. Throughout her career, she served as a dedicated medical transcriptionist for over 50 years and spent more than 20 years involved in animal rescue—reflecting both her skill and her compassion for all living things.
Today, she enjoys caring for her yard and garden, and cherishing time with her friends, neighbors, daughter, and granddaughter.

The 2025 Briarwood Civic Association Board of Directors is proud to announce that our team will be seeking re-election this December.
As our website states, “Providing Briarwood residents with privacy and a peaceful quality of life,” our board remains dedicated to that mission. Over the past year, we’ve focused on strengthening communication, promoting fairness, and ensuring every resident feels heard and respected.
We are grateful for the continued support from our neighbors and for the pride each of you takes in maintaining the beauty and value of Briarwood. With your trust, we look forward to continuing this work together in 2026.
